Biography

As the Principal of Margaret Elementary School, it is my pleasure to welcome you and I thank you for taking time to visit.  The purpose of this webpage is to provide parents, students, and our school community with easy access to information on MAES staff, programs, policies, and activities.

At MAES, we view education as a shared commitment between dedicated teachers & support staff, motivated students, and enthusiastic parents with high expectations.  We strive to provide a safe, creative, educationally challenging environment that encourages our students to be clear about their values, thus living up to our school motto, “Be Respectful, Positive, and Motivated – It is the Mustang Way!”

A little about myself, I attended the University of Alabama at Birmingham where I graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood and Elementary Education.  I received my master’s degree in Elementary Education and Instructional Leadership certificate from the University of West Alabama.  I have sixteen years of teaching experience in St. Clair County. My husband (Andrew) and I live in Leeds, Alabama with our four children – Mackenzie, Matthew, Colby, and Emma.

Thank you for your passion, thank you for your patience, and as always thank you for your support!

Best,

Stephanie McCarrell
